Frequently Asked Questions

1. Free Consultation Call
During this free 20-minute consultation, we’ll take time to talk about what you’re looking for, what kind of support may feel helpful, and whether Laya Women’s Therapy feels like the right fit. This is also a space for you to ask questions, learn more about our services, and get a sense of what it may feel like to work together.
2. Intake Session
The intake session is our first session together and a chance for me to get to know you more fully — your story, what brings you to therapy, and what feels most important right now. I’ll ask thoughtful questions about your history, current concerns, relationships, and experiences so we can better understand your needs and begin shaping meaningful goals for our work together.
3. Ongoing Support
From there, we’ll work collaboratively to support your goals in a way that feels thoughtful, personalized, and grounded in your needs. Each session is guided with care and intention, with our focus shaped by what you’re navigating and the type of support being provided.
I typically recommend beginning with weekly sessions to help build momentum, consistency, and a sense of safety in the therapeutic relationship. As our work progresses, we may consider shifting to every other week depending on your needs, goals, and where you are in the process.

Laya Women’s Therapy is primarily a private-pay and out-of-network practice.
I can provide a superbill after our session that you may submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
Because coverage varies, I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly and asking the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible? If so, how much has been met?
What percentage of the session fee may be reimbursed after my deductible is met?
Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered?
Do I need prior authorization?
How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?
A superbill does not guarantee reimbursement, but it can give your insurance the information they need to process an out-of-network claim.
To support accessibility when possible, I may be available through specialized women’s and perinatal mental health platforms, such as Seven Starling. Availability may vary, and I’m happy to discuss current options during your consultation.

Laya Women’s Therapy holds a limited number of reduced-fee spaces to help make care more accessible when possible. You are welcome to ask about current availability during your consultation.

Yes, you may be able to use an HSA or FSA card for therapy services. Many clients use these accounts to help cover the cost of care.
Because each plan has its own guidelines, I recommend checking with your HSA/FSA provider directly to confirm what is eligible under your plan, especially for couples therapy or extended sessions.
